LG announced their latest achievement

LG have announced their latest achievement, a 2.6mm thin 42 inch LCD HDTV.

We know that by using LED backlighting, LCD TV's can be made much slimmer than normal, but 2.6mm was much slimmer than we would ever dream of. But it's here and LG proudly stand by their achievement and very proud they should be too. Due to the minuscule dimensions, the 'Extreme Slim' TV only weighs 4kg and on its stand takes up very little room.

The LED backlighting system is proving to be a very popular choice with TV manufacturers due to the high quality images that are produced, but the LED's are not the only part that results in such a slimline body. A separate tuner box is connected to the TV by a single HDMI cable and allows easy access to the TV's ports and connections making it oh so simple to hook up your games console, Blu-ray Player, Camcorder etc.

The LG 'Extreme Slim' LED LCD HDTV will be on show at CES 2010.
